Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! (Psalm 95:2)
Today I’m using my “Pastor’s Gratitude Journal” to offer thanks for the gift of music and I ask you to join me in offering prayers of thanksgiving for Good Shepherd’s choir!
This past Sunday, our Epistle reading including James 5:13 which says “Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.” What a blessing to have our choir back with us after a much deserved summer break. As soon as I heard their choral introit, I thought to myself This week, I’m giving thanks for our choir in my journal! During passing of the peace, I couldn't wait to tell them how grateful I was for the beauty they add to our Sunday services!
Then, before preaching, I couldn’t stop my toes from tapping as they offered their rendition of “Dry Bones” as the anthem. It was a musical blessing to all in attendance at our Sunday morning worship and clearly helped make all present enjoy happiness and joy.
The Psalmist declared “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” (Psalm 98:4). Sundays are so much more special when we are blessed with the gift of joyful noise from our choir and today, I offer thanks to God Almighty for each choir member who dedicates their time and talent to aiding our worship experience on Sunday mornings.
